Assistant Professor, Faculty of Agriculture
University of Ilorin
Miss Anifowose began her research career at the molecular level in the Tissue culture laboratory of the Department of Crop Protection & Environmental Biology, University of Ibadan as an undergraduate student. She then proceeded to the Crop Protection department, University of Ilorin, where she established the nematicidal activities of the effective microorganisms technology and compost manure on Meloidogyne incognita. She worked briefly at the Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources before joining the University of Ilorin as an assistant lecturer. Her current explorations centers on elucidation of the molecular and biochemical basis of plant-nematode interactions specifically, the underlying biology and complex networks of effectors.
Employing emerging technologies including genome editing, she's set to crystalize the biology of plant-nematode effectors and translate her findings into: novel control tactics against nematodes, and our needed safe and secured foods.
