EDUCATION

Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Federal University of Piauí, UFPI. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Master's degree in Chemistry and PhD in Natural Sciences at the Institute of Chemistry of the State University of Campinas, UNICAMP. Post-doctorate at the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Service of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, UAB, Catalonia, Spain, in the field of pulse sequence design for liquid NMR spectroscopy. He teaches Spectroscopy, Applied Statistics in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry, General Chemistry and Statistical Thermodynamics. He supervises undergraduate research projects, master's theses and doctoral dissertations in chemistry. He works in the field of organic geochemistry, applying computational chemistry and chemometrics to the study of geological biomarkers (molecular fossils) and asphaltenes present in oil and source rocks from Brazilian sedimentary basins.
