I am a Research Fellow at the Department for History and Philosophy of Science (DHFC) and the Center for the History of Science and Technology (CIUHCT), at the University of Lisbon. My research interests include early modern science, science and religion, science and education, Jesuit science, and book history. I have published widely on the history of science and my articles and book reviews have appeared in publications such as Isis, Renaissance Quarterly, Early Science and Medicine, Annals of Science, History of Science, Archivum Historicum Societatis Iesus, and the Journal of Jesuit Studies. In the past years, I held visiting positions at the Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies (IAJS), Boston College (2017) and at the Oxford Centre for European History and Exeter College, University of Oxford (2019). I was recently elected to the Young Academy of Lisbon at the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon, the most prestigious learned society in Portugal for a three-year term (2024–2026).
